Request Clarification
The Request Clarification feature allows Security Officers to send questionnaire responses back to the vendor for corrections or additional information.
When to request clarification
Use Request Clarification when:
Evidence has been rejected and you need the vendor to provide updated documents.
Answers are incomplete or unclear and require additional detail.
You need the vendor to address specific questions before completing your review.
How it works
For the Security Officer
During the questionnaire review, approve or reject evidence and add comments as needed.
Click Request Clarification.
The questionnaire is sent back to the vendor with your feedback.
For the vendor
When a clarification request is received, the vendor sees:
Which evidence was approved (marked in green).
Which evidence was rejected (marked in red).
Any comments from the Security Officer explaining what needs to be corrected.
The vendor can then:
Edit rejected evidence or update answers.
Add new evidence or comments.
Resubmit the questionnaire.
After resubmission
When the vendor resubmits after a clarification request:
The questionnaire status returns to Needs Review.
Any question updated by the vendor is automatically marked as Needs review, so the client user can focus only on the changes instead of reassessing the full questionnaire.
The AI re-analyzes only the changed answers and evidence.
Previously approved evidence that was not modified retains its approval.
Finding behavior during resubmission
Automatic findings linked to questions where the vendor changes their answer may be removed if the new answer no longer triggers the finding.
Manually added findings on modified questions are also removed.
Findings on unmodified questions are preserved.
